During his studies Aerospace Engineering at the University of Technology in Delft, The Netherlands, Jaap frequently assisted at congresses, organized for scientific education.
At the end of his studies, in 1988, he was asked to write a congress registration software for a PCO, originally coming from the University Congress office.
From 1990-1993 Jaap co-organized a lot of congresses for this company, because they were short of staff and decided to continue with his company called Trantor.
Selling the software, named Eventure, to several PCO’s, Universities and Associations, Jaap came in contact with Parthen. Parthen was selling congress materials (badges/bags) and they decided to work together resulting in the company they are now today.
Today, Jaap is Managing Partner of Parthen meeting services and, next to being co-owner, responsible for all daily business and the staff. He still likes to pick-up the more complex questions of clients to produce the best solution for them, so they can exceed in the (Association) meetings business.
