The red update button is your friend! The more you use it, the more concrete information you get. ICCA members - together with the ICCA team - are working hard to achieve a mutually beneficial situation of sharing information on the ICCA Association Database.
Keep finding ways to press it and you'll be in the running to become the next Researcher of the Month - or even Researcher of the Year!
For May 2019, Yoshiaki Matsui, Deputy Director Conventions at Kyoto Convention & Visitors Bureau, has secured the coveted title! Here's what Yoshiaki had to say:
1. Why do you consider it so important to contribute your meeting information to ICCA Data?
Bidding for an international conference requires research on what international conferences exist worldwide and which of those have a possibility to be held in our city, Kyoto.
We believe that ICCA conferences not only have economic impacts, but bring various influences to the host city. Hosting such conferences is also a sign of credibility thus updating meeting information to ICCA Data will evidently affect the city/country ranking.
We shall continue to update information in the hope that also our information will contribute to other potential host cities interested in our past conferences.
2. What would you like to say to other ICCA members who haven’t actively used the ICCA Database?
When working to bid or host international conferences, there is no better way than to use this world’s largest ICCA Database which provides countless valuable information that cannot be easily obtained on the internet. We believe it is crucial for us all to cooperate with one another to store up information to the database for everyone’s benefit.
3. Do you have any tips for your fellow ICCA members?
When bidding for a conference, it important to take note of information such as past conferences, location of the international association, and “Business Exchange”. The Destination Comparison Tool is also very useful.
