ICCA Researcher of the Month - June 2019

The red update button is your friend! The more you use it, the more concrete information you get. ICCA members - together with the ICCA team - are working hard to achieve a mutually beneficial situation of sharing information on the ICCA Association Database.

Keep finding ways to press it and you'll be in the running to become the next Researcher of the Month - or even Researcher of the Year!

For June 2019, Lisa Goguen, Business Intelligence Analyst/Meeting and Convention Sales, Business Events Montreal has secured the coveted title! Here's what Lisa had to say:

1. Why do you consider it so important to contribute your meeting information to ICCA Data?

I think it’s very important to work together and help fellow members by contributing and sharing your knowledge and findings especially when you come across information that could help others in their mandate. I strongly believe that if we all work together, we are that much further ahead and as they say ’’Data is only as good as it’s last update."

2. What would you like to say to other ICCA members who haven’t actively used the ICCA Database?

I’ve worked with a lot of Research Databases and I really love ICCA. It is such a great source of meeting information. I use it daily as I find it is an invaluable tool for not only researching, analysing and prospecting to find new pieces of business but in general, it provides a comprehensive wealth of information, knowledge and education on meeting industry trends, client needs, and best practices.

3. Do you have any tips for your fellow ICCA members?

If you haven’t already used ICCA, especially for prospecting, I highly recommend getting your feet wet. It is very user friendly and has an abundance of information right at your fingertips.

It’s incredibly important you log in to the Association Database using your own account! The more updates you make to the Database, the greater chance you have of being named the Researcher of the Month - and we can’t be sure it’s you pressing the red button if you’re using your colleague’s details. Please help us end the confusion so this accolade continues to go to the right person.
