ICCA designs and curates Plenary Session at IT&CM China 2019

Shanghai, China (25 March 2019)IT&CM China 2019 concluded on a high note with a fresh new concept introduced to its Plenary Session by the ICCA Asia Pacific Office. With a revamped format, the association’s Regional Office designed the concept and content of the Plenary Session, which was made possible by working together with ICCA members in the region.

This initiative marks the first collaboration with Xiamen ITG MICE Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ITG Holdings and a Fortune 500 conglomerate, which has been a member of ICCA since February this year. An active and passionate ICCA member already within their first few months of membership, Xiamen ITG MICE held a major role in the session, debuting as the Plenary Session’s one and only Presenting Partner. Other esteemed collaborators include TTG Events & IME Consulting.

In keeping with the meeting industry’s latest trends, which differ from the traditional classroom-style lecture for wide group of audience, the Plenary was specifically designed to inspire delegates by using talented speakers from inside and outside of the meetings industry to present in a Ted-talk format.

Noor Hamid, ICCA Regional Director remarked, "The involvement of ICCA in designing the content for this plenary is aimed at bringing a fresh concept to meeting industry players. The combination of experts from the industry and speakers from outside our industry sparks new conversation and making us realise how business models from other business segments could be implemented in our community.

Having Lucas, a Swiss who has an honorary citizenship in Hangzhou and one who speaks Chinese fluently, to explore the possibilities of how we could assist start-up companies to grow in the competitive environment is one such example. Meanwhile, Chris, who is an expert in brand marketing, has reminded us of how we need to re-engineer our product so they can continue to be relevant in a changing landscape.

And of course, the expertise from Mr. Guoye Qui of ITG MICE and Ms. Shelley Tang from Hangzhou International Expo Center, are a perfect combination of our industry itself. I am delighted to have ICCA lead this collaboration and would like to thank ITG MICE for their generous support."

The following speakers at the IT&CM China Plenary were:

  1. Mr. Guoye Qui, General Manager of Xiamen ITG MICE Group Co. Ltd.
  2. Ms. Shelley Tang, General Manager of Hangzhou International Expo Center
  3. Mr. Chris Dingcong, Managing Director of Springtime Design Limited
  4. Lucas Rondez, Founder, CEO & Investment Manager of niHUB Innovation Center & Starup Accelerator & Incubator.

The plenary was hosted by Mr. Noor Hamid, Regional Director Asia Pacific, and Ms. Olivia Jia, Senior Manager of IME Consulting and has received overwhelming feedback from delegates.
