ICCA Researcher of the Month - March 2019

The red update button is your friend! The more you use it, the more concrete information you get. ICCA members - together with the ICCA team - are working hard to achieve a mutually beneficial situation of sharing information on the ICCA Association Database.

Keep finding ways to press it and you'll be in the running to become the next Researcher of the Month - or even Researcher of the Year!

For March 2019, Priscilla Wong, Research Officer at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, has secured the coveted title! Here's what Priscilla had to say:

1. Why do you consider it so important to contribute your meeting information to ICCA Data?

Sharing valuable information with ICCA members makes the database more useful and reliable. The use of the ICCA database not only benefits Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, but is also important to international associations and (especially) our business events industry. As a research officer, the accuracy of the database is very important; thus, I understand the value of contributing data to the ICCA database. Although the process of getting the correct information requires effort and is time-consuming, this correct information actually makes things easier all ICCA members.

2. What would you like to say to other ICCA members who haven’t actively used the ICCA Database?

The ICCA Database is an amazing platform for business events. A lot of parameters and customised searches can be applied when searching for appropriate conference or meeting sizes or industries that matches a particular destination. It will actually save a lot of time when it comes to research strategy.

3. Do you have any tips for your fellow ICCA members?

The very first step of starting to do the market analysis is to review the meeting profile in the ICCA database, as it will definitely save time with the accurate information. Whenever you spot something new (with evidence), remember to click the red button to update the information. This will actually make the ICCA database always up-to-date, which will be beneficial for all the ICCA database users.
