Cyber Security: A Real Risk for Meetings

You may not know it, but hacks and cyber-attacks on meetings and events should be on the list of things that keep you up at night. Here’s why. Meeting professionals at “Meeting Menaces—Blockbusters, Conference Crashers, Hackers, and More,” a hybrid session offered at the Professional Convention Management Association’s Convening Leaders conference that took place in Chicago, January 11–14, initially put cyber risks dead last on the list of menaces facing the meetings industry in 2015 when polled. But they changed their tune after hearing from Michael Robinson, program coordinator and adjunct professor for Stevenson University’s Master of Science in Cyber Forensics, and an adjunct professor at George Mason University.
