If there’s one thing legislators like, it’s data. Now the Meetings Mean Business coalition and the U.S. Travel Association have a new batch of data to bring to Capitol Hill on behalf of government meetings, which remain stuck in a trough. Sequestration and other budget cuts, plus super-tight travel restrictions brought on as a response to a few instances of wasteful conference spending, have led to a dramatic decrease in government conferences held and conferences attended.
