Airbnb has “tremendous disruptive reach” claims association boss

New York City hotels have blamed Airbnb’s operations for a loss of $2.1 billion to the lodging industry and the broader economy of New York City over the course of the last year.
In a new report released by the Hotel Association of New York City titled ‘Airbnb and Impacts on the New York City Lodging Market and Economy’ a wide range of impacts on the city’s lodging industry are listed. “These impacts exist due to the existence of the Airbnb lodging alternatives present in the market,” claims the report.
