What was your motivation to join ICCA?
Zynchrone Media is the publisher of Conference Matters, an international trade magazine for organisers of conventions and business events. The ICCA community is one of our most relevant target groups, so it is a no-brainer to be a member of this community.
Tell us your story. How did Zynchrone Media get started?
Zynchrone Media is founded this year, in May 2022, by gaining the publishing rights of Conference Matters and another trade magazine called Expovisie (‘Expo Vision’). These two magazines have previously been published by Het Portaal, which was also a member of ICCA. Our ambition is to build an interactive platform that will help the conference, expo and event industry to be more successful, especially after those turbulent corona years.
What is your favourite success story from your organisation?
We just released the international print edition of Conference Matters. As an Amsterdam-based company, we focus with this magazine on the Netherlands as an innovative destination. We can really recommend it, because we invited some great Dutch influencers to share their thoughts on international meetings: Roberto Payer (one of the most experienced hotel managers in the world), Jos Vranken (director of the Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions) and the inspirational speaker and stand-up comedian Greg Shapiro, famous for his Trump impersonations.

Which trends do you see in the Association Meetings?
No meeting organiser can ignore the impact of digitisation and sustainability. Due to COVID-19, we all got used to hybrid events. The next step is getting used to sustainable events. We all should, because our planet demands it. Let our industry lead by example!
