
When I was announced as ICCA President during our 61st Congress in Kraków, my immediate feeling was one of overwhelming gratitude to those of you who voted for me. Looking back on my election campaign, I think my desire to hold as many open one-to-one conversations as possible, helped me understand – rather than second guess - what it is members want from ICCA in 2023. With this is mind, one of my election pledges was to launch a community wide survey, a needs analysis, asking you what it is you want from ICCA. I am delighted to announce that we are ready to launch such an undertaking.
ICCA is a unique organisation with a strong and respected voice in the international events and meetings industry. The work we do matters. The influence we have matters. The role we play matters. But none of this means we should not stop striving to do more. To offer more. To be more. The last few years have been challenging in so many ways. As a heritage brand, ICCA has seen how change can both threaten – and actually inspire – the industry we all care about. We can cite our resilience, our ingenuity, and our flexibility as core strengths. But how can we use these strengths to hone the proposition we offer you as members. So, this is the big question: what kind of company do you want us to be? What is it you – as a member – needs and expects from us? How can we ensure your membership meets the particular business needs you have? This is your golden opportunity to tell us… and help shape ICCA strategy for the coming year and beyond.
