ICCA Researcher of the Month – July 2019

The red update button is your friend! The more you use it, the more concrete information you get. ICCA members - together with the ICCA team - are working hard to achieve a mutually beneficial situation of sharing information on the ICCA Association Database.

Keep finding ways to press it and you'll be in the running to become the next Researcher of the Month - or even Researcher of the Year!

For August 2019, Tess Kidman, Research & Referral Executive at Adelaide Convention Bureau, has secured the coveted title! Here's what Tess had to say:

Why do you consider it so important to contribute your meeting information to ICCA Data?

It is vital that all ICCA members try and contribute updates to ICCA Data, as a database is as only as good as the information we enter. Researching new opportunities can also take a long time and if ICCA contains the most up to date information (future host destinations, dates, next open year, bidding guidelines, correct contact information, website link) it certainly makers a researcher’s job a lot easier and efficient.

What would you like to say to other ICCA members who haven’t actively used the ICCA Database?

ICCA can be a little daunting at first, but once you use it more you will find how invaluable it is as a resource. Every international event I come across I always check its ICCA profile. Plus, if you have any questions the ICCA team are always super helpful!

Do you have any tips for your fellow ICCA members?

If you have any updates for a profile no matter how big or small, please hit the red button (Report an Update).

It’s incredibly important you log in to the Association Database using your own account! The more updates you make to the Database, the greater chance you have of being named the Researcher of the Month - and we can’t be sure it’s you pressing the red button if you’re using your colleague’s details. Please help us end the confusion so this accolade continues to go to the right person.
