Joanne Joham, CMP CMM Named Vice Chair of ASAE International Associations Advisory Council

Joanne Joham, CMP CMM, Regional Director North America for ICCA, has been named Vice Chair of the America Society of Association Executives 2020 International Associations Advisory Council, succeeding to Chair in 2021 The International Associations Advisory Council (IAAC) supports association executives whose role in associations includes international activities and outreach. The role also includes support for the growing field of association management worldwide.

Joanne has proudly served on the IACC (formerly known as the International Section Council) since 2017 and has held various volunteer roles including Chair of the Global Solutions Committee, which implemented global programmes for Planners and Suppliers in order to foster relations and understanding on a global basis, as well as  Chair of the Resources Committee and a member of the Credentialing Committee. On behalf of ICCA, Joanne spearheaded a formal agreement between ASAE and ICCA which will support the organisations’ collaborative initiatives on a global basis.

From 2006-2016 Joanne represented ICCA on the CMP Board and served as Chair of the CMP group under the new branding CMP Governance Commission in 2015. Joanne teaches meeting management courses in numerous countries in Central America, Latin America, Asia, Africa and North America and has received the CMP30 Influencer Award for her global teaching efforts and excellent promotion of the CMP Designation. After returning to the United States from residing in Vienna Austria, Joanne joined MPI and was recently awarded her 20 year MPI pin for service to the New Jersey Chapter where she served two terms as Chapter President and Chair of many committees. She is a proud CMM and dedicated promotor of continuing professional education and certifications.

Joanne’s career working globally has provided her with an exceptional basis of understanding for the global marketplace and the intricacies of cultural diversity. Prior to working as Regional Director NA for ICCA, she worked for two international airlines, global meeting planning organisations based in various world-wide locations, has represented global convention and visitor’s bureaus and centers and has managed a Canadian PCO boasting a large global sales staff.

ICCA is proud to have Joanne represent the organisation on the ASAE International Associations Advisory Council where she will serve as Chair during the 2021/2022 term.
