150 Associations confirmed to join ICCA Congress. Big milestone reached!

We are halfway through the 6-week ICCA Congress Programme and associations have been an integral part of it.

Their voices and input was heard at the live broadcast on 22 September, they have played a proactive role in the 3 Topic Weeks as panelists, as well as audience, and they have played a major role in setting up the basis of the Kaohsiung Protocol, through participating in the surveys, interviews and live sessions.

Associations have also been curious about the ICCA experiment and want to see our hybrid Congress in action. They want to see what works and what does not, what technologies are out there, how can you facilitate networking between online participants, and are particularly interested in how the hub programme will work and what the interaction between the live and online audience will look like.
Here are some quotes from associations who have already registered:

"The events industry is at a crossroad and this could be our Mars landing!"
Cathy Persidis, Director, Head of Operations, EMEAIS
Drug Information Association (DIA)

“It is wonderful that ICCA has been able to attract a growing number of association members and is a testament to ICCA’s central role as a convener for the global meetings and association community. Now more than ever we all need to come together, exchange, collaborate, learn from each other and co-create the future of the global meetings industry.”
Thomas Reiser, Executive Director
International Society for Thrombosis and Hemostasis (ISTH)

“Before COVID changed our entire world, we joined ICCA as an association member to benefit from their unmatched global educational content and unrivaled networking opportunities. When the pandemic upended meetings and travel around the world, ICCA reacted swiftly, and we were grateful for the sense of community and amazing resources that were immediately available to help us navigate these new waters. We belong to and participate in several industry associations. ICCA, far and away, provides the best value to our international association.”
Leslie Zeck, CMP, CMM, HMCC, Director of Meetings
International & American Associations for Dental Research (IADR)

“I view the MICE industry as a strong partner for retail tourism and retail tourism organizations.  We have no ICCA, certainly no organization with the kind of visibility and presence to do what ICCA can do.
I am always gratified by the way member concerns and thoughts become world news in 12 months and global policy in 24 months because of ICCA leadership.
After the very friendly people, I value the leadership ICCA has shown, especially during this crisis.  Six months into a great health and economic crisis, we are seeing best practices evolving and being rapidly shared in a way that would not have been possible ten years ago.  I think many people are seeing a way forward for events and I want to do everything I can to contribute to that.”

Jon Bruno, Executive Director
The International Ecotourism Society (TIES)
